New Americans for America is a movement started by New Americans who believe in the values that this country was founded on - equality, justice, and freedom. As immigrants, we know firsthand the challenges and opportunities that come with building a new life in America. Our diverse backgrounds and experiences make us uniquely qualified to advocate for policies that benefit all Americans, regardless of their background or status.

What We Do

New Americans for America is a volunteer group of passionate individuals with a mission to create positive change in America by advocating for policies that benefit all Americans, regardless of their background or status. We believe in building a more inclusive, equitable, and just America.

Mobilize Voters

We believe that voting is a fundamental right and an essential way to participate in our democracy. We mobilize voters by organizing phone banks, text banks, and canvassing efforts to educate voters on issues and get out the vote.

Advocate for Policies

We believe in advocating for policies that support all Americans, including new Americans and refugees. We work to raise awareness of policies that impact our community and advocate for policies that create positive change.

Support Candidates

We support candidates who share our values and are committed to building a more inclusive, equitable, and just America. We provide training and support for candidates who are running for office and are committed to advocating for policies that benefit all Americans.

Build Community

We believe that building community is essential to creating positive change. We provide opportunities for new Americans and refugees to connect with each other and with other passionate individuals who share our values

PRIORITIES

Replace "Alien" with "New Americans"

We believe that the language we use to describe immigrants and refugees matters. The term "alien" has been used to dehumanize and otherize immigrants and refugees for far too long. We support policies that replace the term "alien" with "New Americans" in all federal laws and regulations.

Protect and Expand Pathways to Citizenship

We believe that all immigrants, regardless of their status, should have a clear and accessible path to citizenship. We support the DREAM Act and comprehensive immigration reform that would provide a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants and protect DACA recipients.

Strengthen and Expand Refugee Resettlement Programs

We believe that the United States has a responsibility to welcome and support refugees who are fleeing violence, persecution, and other forms of hardship. We support the restoration and strengthening of refugee resettlement programs, including the resettlement of refugees who have been impacted by the Trump administration's policies.

Invest in Language and Cultural Assistance Programs

We recognize that many refugees and new Americans face language and cultural barriers when they arrive in the United States. We support investing in programs that provide language and cultural assistance, including English as a Second Language (ESL) classes and cultural orientation programs.

Promote Economic Opportunity and Entrepreneurship

We believe that new Americans and refugees have much to contribute to the economy and society. We support policies that promote economic opportunity, including access to education and job training programs, and encourage entrepreneurship through small business development programs. We also support policies that provide financial assistance, loans, and tax incentives to support New American small business owners.

Combat Discrimination and Xenophobia

We stand against all forms of discrimination and xenophobia towards refugees and new Americans. We support policies that combat hate crimes and protect the civil rights of all Americans, regardless of their background or status.

Ensure Access to Healthcare

We believe that all Americans, regardless of their background or status, should have access to quality healthcare. We support policies that improve access to healthcare, including expanding Medicaid and providing affordable health insurance options. We also support policies that address health disparities and ensure that all Americans can receive the care they need.

Tuition-Free Education

We believe that access to education is a fundamental right and that all Americans should have access to high-quality education. We support policies that make higher education accessible and affordable, including tuition-free college for all Americans.
